Kris has been sewing or quilting for over 20 years. She loves sharing her passion for quilting and all things related to fabric, believing that quilting should be fun and not stressful. Kris teaches at national shows and guilds across the country and has won numerous national and international awards for her machine quilting skills over the years including Best Longarm Quilting at AQS Paducah, and the PFAFF Mastery award at Houston International Quilt Show. Kris is a BERNINA Ambassador and the author of the Stress Free Quilting® book series. She loves traveling and meeting quilters from around the world. Kris believes that no matter what language you speak fabric is universal.

Hip to be Square

Quilts not flat or square? Do you have more waves than a royal wedding? Dealing with “Smiley” quilts or too much fullness? Points or seams that don’t match up?  This class will walk you through how to make those quilts behave.  We will cover ways to ease in fullness, how to pick quilting designs to help cover or eliminate problems, and how to just generally make those quilts behave.

Presentation will begin at 10:00 am Central Standard Time. (one hour length)

Modern Quilts Dividing Negative Spaces Workshop

Workshop begins at 12 noon. This will be a 2-3-hour lecture and demonstration.

Unsure what to quilt on all those lovely negative spaces on modern quilts? In this workshop, Kris walks you through the basics of how to pick the best designs for your quilts. She covers dividing up the negative spaces into workable sections and how to quilt multiple designs suitable for modern quilts. Everything you need to know to make quilting your modern quilt a breeze.

Cost: $40 for members for hands-on workshop. $50 for guests.
